We've had many customers asking us if we sell or will sell messmör (Swedish) or prim as it is called in Norwegian. Unfortunately the answer is no, but here's a very simple recipe to make your own from brunost or brown cheese.

This is what you need:

250g (8.9oz) Brown Cheese, Ekte Geitost or any other variety

2 dl Skim Milk

1 dl Heavy Cream

1 tsp Sugar

1. Cube the brown cheese and add to a pot with the rest of the ingredients.

2. Stir until the brown cheese has melted and allow to simmer on low heat for 30 min.

3. Cool down the melted cheese mixture by placing the pot in a "water bath" a large bowl with ice and water. Stir until cooled.

4. Pour the cheese spread into clean air tight jars.

Can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
