Using our cake mixes is super easy and they come out great every time even if you're not a seasoned baker. Follow the easy steps below to try a Swedish style spice cake with lingonberries.
Below is a picture of what you need. It does not matter if you have a glass jar mix or the ziptop mix, both make the same size cake.
You can use lingonberries or substitute whole cranberry sauce as the cranberries are a cheaper substitute and are easier to find in stores.

Shopping list:
1 stick melted butter
1 c lingonberry preserve or whole cranberry sauce
3/4 c + 3 tbsp buttermilk
3 eggs
1 Jar of Pepparkaka Mix
or
1 Ziptop Pepparkaka Mix

    1. Start by buttering a large bundt pan. This is easily done with the paper wrapping from the butter.

    2. Mix all the wet ingredients: melted butter, eggs, preserve and buttermilk in a large mixing bowl.

    3. Add the jar or zip top bag with cake mix and stir on the slowest speed with a beater or by hand.

    4. Pour the batter in the prepared baking pan and put on lower rack in the over. Bake at 350F for approx. 55 min. or until a cake tester comes out clean. If the cake appears pale use the broiler for a half minute or so at the end. Just pay close attention so that the cake does not burn.

Allow the cake to cool somewhat before putting it upside down on a rack or cutting board.

Enjoy with coffee or a cold glass of milk!

Allow to cool completely before serving. Any leftover cake is best stored wrapped in plastic or a ziplock bag inside the fridge.
