1. Glögg has many great qualities. It's a social drink to sip with friends and family in front of the fireplace or just to warm you up after a long, cold day. The almonds add a little crunch while the raisins will sink to the bottom of the glass where they will get plump and tasty when your glögg is done.

There are many kinds of glögg mixes to choose from, some already with the wine added. A concentrated spiced juice blend made from grape juice, sugar and spices does not have any alcohol so it can be served to the kids as well, like Saturnus. If you make it from spices though you'll save some money and you can also decide how much sugar to add.

Our Glögg mix has 4 different spices and directions on the package. It calls for 2 bottles of red wine and 2 bottles of port.

Add all the spices, except for the almonds and raisins that comes in the Glögg packet to a large pot, add wine and port.

Heat up the mix, but make sure not to boil off all the alcohol. Add the sugar and stir until melted. Turn off the heat and let sit at room temperature, covered, for 24hrs. This will get the most flavor out of the spices. When your ready to enjoy it serve it warm with a sprinkle of almonds and raisins.
